Hello,
As to my last blog, it didn't work so I am going to leave it up to the good Lord above to take over. I just hope that it's soon!
AJ had his 9 month check up and he is getting so big or at least I thought so. He is within the 25% of his weight and length and is 75% as far as his head cercomferance. So in Nancy terms he is one of those charicturature drawning ... you know little body and big heads ... only my kids.
I am going to be very busy here soon. I am helping to through a baby shower for one of my good friends that had her first baby just about 3 months ago ... talking about happy times!! I so can't wait to meet little Matthew James.
Thank is all for know sorry for the long time that passes please forgive me and do check in often and leave comments I love hearing from you all!

Life and death in just one week
Hello bloggers,
This has been a bittersweet week for us. On Saturday 3/3 my cousin's wife lost her fight with cancer. I am really learning to hate that illness. I don't like to use that word for it is a very powerful word. With in the past 3 years this illness has claimed 3 lives that I knew, two of them were family. Then I think why did God let something so terrible exsist. Then in the case of my cousin, why someone so young. Someone that is just starting her own family. She is/was a mother of two, one being 5 yrs and the other 2 yrs. I know there was a reason for it, and even though we might now find out why here on Earth we will one day find out in heaven. For those of you that prayed for the family, thank you. I ask if you could continue to pray for the family as they start their lives with out Mommy, Wife, Daughter, and Sister. This is going to be hard on them, so I thank you in advance! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Any way on to the good news. My bestest friend had youngin' #3 on 3/6 at 8:00 am. Her name is Hope Elizabeth Erin Armitage. She checked in at 6 lbs. 4 oz and 19 1/2 in long. I so can not wait to meet her and introduce myself to her face to face instead of face to stomach ... HAHAHA!!
On a totally differant note, I think that AJ is cutting some more teeth. YUCK! =( He is not liking that to much.

teeth
I had a wonderful surprise this past Friday morning. I was getting ready to go out that early afternoon. I was in the bathroom doing my hair and AJ was in the hall way just outside of the bath room in something that I call an activity doughnut. He seems to get grumpy if I am not within his line of sight. I just happened to look down at him and he looked up at me with a big smile, like he usually does and I noticed two white lines on his gums, that is when curiosity took over. I felt in his mouth and low and behold he cut two teeth at the same time. I guess he is just making up for lost time in getting teeth. I was so happy that my baby boy finally has teeth that I called Jim and both of the parents to tell them the good news. Yippy, now I can start intorducing him to more of the solid foods. I know I could have been doing that all along, but I know I'm weird, but my thinking is that give the baby things like that when they have teeth so they can learn how to use them and know that, that is why they have them. So now I'm glad that I bought so many Girl Scout cookies ... remember guys they are a tax deductable ... they are a charitable donation.

Wow, it’s been way to long … sorry guys please forgive me. As to my last blog, Evey is still in love with her wrinkles and is still wearing diapers. Jim and I have tried I think just about everything. We have candy in the bathroom as a prize if she goes. I’ve tried to have her wear nothing but the clothe training underwear all day, thinking that the feeling of the stuff against her bottom would gross her out. WRONG!!! She got used to is and is still in diapers. I even tried nothing at all for about 4 to 5 hours and that didn’t work either. I’ve even tried to tell her that in order for her to go to school like her older cousin she has to be wearing big girl panties and not the diapers, that still isn’t working. So I think that I’m giving up and I’m just going to have to face the fact that she is going to be wearing diapers for the rest of her life and I might have to try the home schooling thing cause if she is still wearing diapers when it comes time for her to start school they are not going to let her in. I’ve even told her that if she gets rid of her diapers she can have a big girl bed and not have to sleep in a crib anymore. I just don’t get it.
Any way on a better and happier note. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
EVERYONE!!
LOTS OF LOVE TO ALL!!

WRINKLES! YUCK??
For the readers of my blog please refresh my memory please. When is it that your opinion of wrinkles change. What I mean by this is that, last night I was giving Evey a bath and she got happy that she had wrinkles on her hands and feet, and here I am dreading the day that I have them on me. When did that change, from not caring if you have them to caring and wondering where you first one will be at. Also, for those of you that have older kids, do you have any potty training tips for me. Jim and I are having a hard time with Evey and will just about try anything. We’ve tried the treats for every time that she would go … well that lasted for about a month or so. What did you do? HELP!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Thursday, December 14, 2006

It’s amazing when you realize how your kids see you. I was talking to my Dad this evening and he told me that they were looking at some of my wedding pictures and Evelyn saw them and said, “Mommy looks like a Princess!” So that is how Evey sees me as Cinderella … someone flawless not only in looks but in all aspects of being a Mom. That made my day! Thank you Evey, I love you.

Hello all,
Same stuff just a different day, how about you all? For those of you that work with kids, do you ever find it hard to go to work. The other day I dropped the kids off at my in-laws house before I left to go to work and AJ was smiling just as cute as can be and it just got to me and didn’t want to go to work. Oh, check this out … Evey is 3 years old and knows how to use chop sticks … how cool it that? Anyway, Christmas is a whapping 18 days away … are you done shopping, or have you even started? Better get a move on guys. I have my sister that lives in Kentucky left but I know what I’m getting so it’s just a matter of getting out there and getting it. Go and enjoy the wonderful cold snowy weather!!

I can’t believe that 5 months ago today Jim and I became parents for the 2nd time and Evelyn meet her new baby brother. Today he is loving any attention from anyone that is willing to give it to him. He is a very good natured baby and loves to laugh and smile. He just started to roar like a lion, it’s just way too cute!!
On a different note you have 26 days, counting today to finish up your Christmas shopping … are you done yet. Or better yet have you started? I just finished today!! Now I just have to worry about wraping everything that I got now!! Any volunteers to help out? Just kidding.

I am doing something right.

Some thing this morning happened that made me realize that I must be doing something right as a Mom. I was getting the kids in the car to go Jim’s Mom and Dad’s house while I’m at work and Evey made a comment about the clouds and how beautiful they look … her exact words. I followed with do you know who made the clouds in the sky? “Yes I do, Jesus made them” That made my morning that I thought was tough just a bit better, the sun seemed to shine just a bit more then.

Good news Bad news
Well, let’s start off with the bad news first and get that one over and done with.
Well, for all of those that know Jim, know that he had his 2nd attempt with the welding test for school this past Wednesday night. Well thank you for your prayers, but he didn’t pass this time. We are hoping that the third time is a charm for him. He did start off very well he said. He did make one little mistake but it was something so small that if that was the only thing wrong they would have passed him. But that one little mistake took it’s toll on him mentally and he went down hill after that. He as able to get pointers from his instructor after class, and now he feels like he will be able to pass it for sure next time, which will be some time between Turkey Day and Christmas.
So, here for the good news. For what ever reason why I didn’t tell you this all before God above only knows, but this past Sunday (11/12) was Uncle Henry’s first Sunday back to church since all of hospital visits and head operation about a month ago. He looked totally awesome!! He is doing very well for himself, still slow going though. Thank you for all of you that have been praying for him and all of us during that time of pins and needles. It is always nice to see someone doing so well and know that it has something to do with the prayers that you sent to heaven for him. We all love you Uncle Henry!!
Well, that is all for now I have to pick up Evey from class.
Chow for now!

life and death thoughts
I was on the way to my folks house last night and started to think how funny life works with matters of life and death … why I don’t really know why I was thinking this, I guess with the 1 year anniversary of Pastor Ken’s death right around the corner I started to think. I was thinking of all the things that were happening in my life one year ago this month mainly with the upcoming week(s), and what I was doing. I was starting morning sickness with our son Andrew. I thought it was strange how one life was coming to an end while still another was starting. Actually AJ was one of 3 that boys starting their lives during that time. Of course I think that AJ is the best of all 3, but then again I’m the Mom so I will side with him.
Then 2 years ago from 11/10 my Grandpa Bruce when to heaven to be with wonderful wife and Jesus … it’s times like this when I miss them so!! But I know that is just the way life works. It’s a comfort to me to know that I WILL see them all again … someday!
For all of those that visit this blog this week, please keep Jim in your prayers mainly for Wednesday. See for his schooling he has to pass a welding test in order to graduate in September. He goes in for another swing at it 11/15. This will be his 2nd attempt and he is getting nervous about it, which means in turn that I’m getting nervous. As soon as he passes this test in our minds eyes he is graduated even though he still has 4 more weeks of schooling to go through. I will keep you all posted as to what happens. Thank you in advance for the prayers!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Not what they say but how they say it.
Yesterday evening about 8 ish or so, Evey asked me if she could have a glass of juice, I said yes and to meet me in the kitchen and I would get her that glass of juice for her. By the time that I got to the kitchen she is sitting on the floor Indian style getting what I thought of a close up look at the floor. She is bent over to where her little nose is just about an inch or two from the floor and she said to me that there is dirt on the floor. I looked down at what she is looking at and sure enough there is dirt on the floor from Jim’s dirty work boots from earlier in the day. What tickled me so about this is that she for whatever reason felt that she had to get that close to the floor to see this spot of dirt that wasn’t really that small I could see it from just standing over the spot where the dirt lies. So like I said it’s not always what they say it’s how they say it too. So have a good day and don’t forget to smile and laugh a bit to day!

HELP ... I need your advice!
I was wondering if I should or not. I had called in to get free Chicago Blackhawk tickets again, I called 3 times and each time left a voice message at the correct phone number that I was directed to call. In all 3 messages I asked to call me back either way to let me know if I get the tickets or not. My thinking on that is to get sitters lined up for the kids. Then this past Saturday in the mail we got a surprise, we got the two free tickets. Everything worked out alright as far as getting a sitter to take the kids over night but I was wondering if I should send them a complaint about this or not, since everything worked out. I’m debating on it due to the fact that they were free and I don’t want to push my luck and not be able to get more in the mail from this company. What to you think?

3 years ago tonight at about 11:00 pm Evelyn desided to start coming. It was the night of Ralph & Arlene Brooker's birthday bash thing that church hosted for them. Jim's Aunt Phyllis was there and told me that I was not to be pregnant the next time that we see each other ... well, Evey listened to her. I checked in the hospitol at about 11 pm and she arrived at 9:31 am on a Monday morning. She is my little love bug and I love her bunches & bunches & bunches. If you read this Evelyn I just wanted to let you know that I love you bunches & bunches & bunches and I can't wait to spend the day with you tomorrow my little love bug!!

Thankfull for CBC

I just wanted to say a little something about the church that I attend. I’ve been going to Central Bible Church since I was as old as Evey is now … WOW 3 yrs on the 3rd of November!! Anyway, and now my children are going to be able to grow up in the same church and come to know God the same way that I did. I was listening to a trio sing a song that gave me goose bumps … that means that the song was wonderfully sung and chosen. That’s when I started to think about the blessings that Jim and I have gotten from the church this year, and I’ve totally been slacking on saying Thank you to them all. So if you are reading this and you know how I’m talking about please share this with them … Thank you!!
This year, for most of the year we’ve been down to just one paycheck and the blessings came during that time. Jim lost his job in Feb. and found a new one in May, the for the month of June, July, and 1/2 of Aug. I was out of work for the pregnancy and delivery of our son AJ. During the time that Jim was off he was doing some work on the Toddler Nursery that Pastor Ken asked him to do before his death about a year ago now. The board of the church gave us a gift card to Wal-Mart, which came in handy with the baby coming. It came in handy with having to buy formula and getting BOY clothes for him. It was something so nice and totally unexpected that Jim and I went to bed with tears of joy that night knowing that we will be alright.
It’s really amazing how God will help out those that are faithful to him, and stay straight with the Lord … as Pastor Ken would say.
PS ... Hey Melinda I fixed my blog so you will be able to post a comment from now on! Sorry about that!

My babies

Hello,
Here is something to smile about. Here are my kiddies. Yes I know that they are in black-n-white but they are just to cute … and yes that is really their natural eye color!! We are going to be in trouble when Evey becomes a teen and wants to date. I'd better get ready now … right?
I was home sick yesterday and this was the only good things that happened was I got these pictures in. YIPPIE!!
When I got to work I got an e-mail from the secretary from the church that I attend saying the Jim’s Uncle Henry is now back in the hospital from his brain operation. He had to be taken back in for he started to bleed on the brain again on Monday night and was air lifted to St. Joe’s in Joliet. So we are back to sitting on pins and needles wondering if we are going to be getting that dreaded phone call. A lady that I work with is telling me that they will stop the bleeding and he will be alright … I wish I had her positive thinking.
That is all for now, hope you are doing better than I today.

Stuff
Hello, I just want to start off and let you all know that I am probably the worlds worst speller. So if I misspell something let me know and I will try to correct it for ya. I was told that I used the wrong word for something in my profile but for what ever reason it wouldn’t save my change, I did try to fix it!
Jim and I went to that Blackhawks game on Saturday and loved it, only saw one major fight that was right in front of us too. When that fight broke out I started to laugh at my self about it. When it started the refs were just standing there just looking on till they fell to the ice, then broke it. The more I thought about it I realized that I would not want to get into the middle of that either, these guy were rather large men, plus you have all that extra weight due to the padding.
Lastly, I found out that Uncle Henry came home from the hospital on Friday (10/20) afternoon. That is really blowing me away in that he had a brain operation last Monday and he is home already … doctors these days!
Anyway how was your Sweetest Day? Wonderful I hope!

Tonight we are going to go to the Chicago Blackhawk's game … get this for free to us. You maybe wondering how for free, well let me tell you. June of 2005 we refinanced our house and the gentle man that did everything for us, called us up on Columbus Day and said that he had some tickets to give away, so I called to see if we could get two of them. The cool thing is that when I asked for them I had no idea that today is Sweetest Day. Have you thought of something for your sweetie? If not you better start. This is exciting for me, this is our first date night since AJ came into our lives. Our last date night was the night before he was born and we went out to a nice stake dinner since we knew that it would be awhile before we do that one again. Also, another thing that is making this really cool is that we are about 5 rows up from the ice …. Now tell me how cool is that and I don’t mean literally! So I got my jersey sitting out on the bed while I’m here at work waiting till game time.
One more thing I will leave you with that I saw this week that I thought was kind of funny and thought I would share with all of you. I went to a store this week for some stuff during my lunch brake from work. When I got out of my care I noticed that the car that was next to me had a 24 pack of beer buckled into their child's car seat. I thought that it’s a shame that beer is that important to them to have to strap it in for safety, like from damage during a car accident or something like that. I thought that was so funny … how about you?
