Thankfull for CBC

I just wanted to say a little something about the church that I attend. I’ve been going to Central Bible Church since I was as old as Evey is now … WOW 3 yrs on the 3rd of November!! Anyway, and now my children are going to be able to grow up in the same church and come to know God the same way that I did. I was listening to a trio sing a song that gave me goose bumps … that means that the song was wonderfully sung and chosen. That’s when I started to think about the blessings that Jim and I have gotten from the church this year, and I’ve totally been slacking on saying Thank you to them all. So if you are reading this and you know how I’m talking about please share this with them … Thank you!!

This year, for most of the year we’ve been down to just one paycheck and the blessings came during that time. Jim lost his job in Feb. and found a new one in May, the for the month of June, July, and 1/2 of Aug. I was out of work for the pregnancy and delivery of our son AJ. During the time that Jim was off he was doing some work on the Toddler Nursery that Pastor Ken asked him to do before his death about a year ago now. The board of the church gave us a gift card to Wal-Mart, which came in handy with the baby coming. It came in handy with having to buy formula and getting BOY clothes for him. It was something so nice and totally unexpected that Jim and I went to bed with tears of joy that night knowing that we will be alright.

It’s really amazing how God will help out those that are faithful to him, and stay straight with the Lord … as Pastor Ken would say.

PS ... Hey Melinda I fixed my blog so you will be able to post a comment from now on! Sorry about that!

My babies

Hello,
Here is something to smile about. Here are my kiddies. Yes I know that they are in black-n-white but they are just to cute … and yes that is really their natural eye color!! We are going to be in trouble when Evey becomes a teen and wants to date. I'd better get ready now … right?

I was home sick yesterday and this was the only good things that happened was I got these pictures in. YIPPIE!!

When I got to work I got an e-mail from the secretary from the church that I attend saying the Jim’s Uncle Henry is now back in the hospital from his brain operation. He had to be taken back in for he started to bleed on the brain again on Monday night and was air lifted to St. Joe’s in Joliet. So we are back to sitting on pins and needles wondering if we are going to be getting that dreaded phone call. A lady that I work with is telling me that they will stop the bleeding and he will be alright … I wish I had her positive thinking.

That is all for now, hope you are doing better than I today.

Stuff

Hello, I just want to start off and let you all know that I am probably the worlds worst speller. So if I misspell something let me know and I will try to correct it for ya. I was told that I used the wrong word for something in my profile but for what ever reason it wouldn’t save my change, I did try to fix it!

Jim and I went to that Blackhawks game on Saturday and loved it, only saw one major fight that was right in front of us too. When that fight broke out I started to laugh at my self about it. When it started the refs were just standing there just looking on till they fell to the ice, then broke it. The more I thought about it I realized that I would not want to get into the middle of that either, these guy were rather large men, plus you have all that extra weight due to the padding.

Lastly, I found out that Uncle Henry came home from the hospital on Friday (10/20) afternoon. That is really blowing me away in that he had a brain operation last Monday and he is home already … doctors these days!

Anyway how was your Sweetest Day? Wonderful I hope!

Tonight we are going to go to the Chicago Blackhawk's game … get this for free to us. You maybe wondering how for free, well let me tell you. June of 2005 we refinanced our house and the gentle man that did everything for us, called us up on Columbus Day and said that he had some tickets to give away, so I called to see if we could get two of them. The cool thing is that when I asked for them I had no idea that today is Sweetest Day. Have you thought of something for your sweetie? If not you better start. This is exciting for me, this is our first date night since AJ came into our lives. Our last date night was the night before he was born and we went out to a nice stake dinner since we knew that it would be awhile before we do that one again. Also, another thing that is making this really cool is that we are about 5 rows up from the ice …. Now tell me how cool is that and I don’t mean literally! So I got my jersey sitting out on the bed while I’m here at work waiting till game time.

One more thing I will leave you with that I saw this week that I thought was kind of funny and thought I would share with all of you. I went to a store this week for some stuff during my lunch brake from work. When I got out of my care I noticed that the car that was next to me had a 24 pack of beer buckled into their child's car seat. I thought that it’s a shame that beer is that important to them to have to strap it in for safety, like from damage during a car accident or something like that. I thought that was so funny … how about you?

happy thoughts

I woke up this morning after a wonderful long night sleep and thought of the things that I'm happy for. This morning I am happy that first of all God is giving me another day to spend with my husband and children, I'm happy about Evelyn hugs and smiles from AJ and for whatever reason I'm not to sure right now but big soft fuzzy blankets to snuggle with the kids under. I am also happy that Uncle Henry is doing well for right now, I just hope that he keeps on getting better, for I don't know how I'll explain that one to Evey for she loves saying hello to her Uncle Henry on Sunday mornings at church. I know that things like that comes with the territory of being a Mom. Anyway on to a good day, I can't wait to get home to get more hugs from Evey ... here is a picture of her. More will come as soon as I get them. I ordered some last week and should get them this week sometime, or so I've been told.

it's done

Hello ... this just in Uncle Henry is done and in ICU. According to the doctors the operation was/is a success although there is still that chance of bleeding. They are going to do a CT scan tomorrow to see how things are going. The nurses are saying that he is dazed and confused but that is from the drugs that he was given for the operation. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this time. God really is good to those who are faithful!!

Uncle Henry

Hello eveyone, first of all I'm joining the crue of bloggers to update everyone on all of the happenings in the life of our little family for those relatives that are out of state. Today is a day of pins and needles for the Doyens family. Uncle Henry was undergoing a head operation and this is what we know so far. He went in at about 1:30pm and got through to the brain at about 2:30pm and that is all I know as of 5:40pm. I will let you all know what I find out as I find it out. Do keep us in your prayers mainly his wife Phyllis and his children Jenni, Gloria, and David. At this point in time I guess no news is good news that things are going as well as to be expected. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.
